  • Bring Back Old LiveCharts

Until you resolve the firewall issue with new LiveCharts I suggest you bring back old LiveCharts. There are too many unresolved issues with new LiveCharts. Why should I have to pay to beta test for you?

If I can't get LiveCharts through our firewall then I certainly am going to look for another vendor.

    I'm not at ALL pleased.

I wasn't given any notification of this change over. I woke up to check the futures and I was logged out.

There is no support for this change over. I had to guess how to get a bloody quote.

This change over eliminates many of the useful options that I used every day.

Does ANYONE have any remote investment INTEREST? A lick of professionalism? I've had to close out my positions because I can't trade responsibly with this type of thing going on. Did anyone ever stop to consider that real money is at stake here?

LiveCharts - and the appalling replacement

If anyone from ESignal or Quote.com reads these - please note that I have had to cancel my subscription to Quote.com. I really had no wish to do this.

Unfortuantely, some bright spark has eliminated an excellent Charting package and replaced it with an inflexible and generic system - without any consultation with the people who pay for it!

What an amazing way to deal with customers in 2008. The internet means that it is easy to change to a new data provider but the real question is why did you do this?

Livecharts has gone back 100 years with this "NEW" livecharts. So how do we get two charts up at the same time? etc ... I am so mad at this garbage that if we do not get things changed back to the way they were OR they improve on this "pretty picture" I'll be gone.

Engineering has restored access to the lagacy version of LiveCharts, there was a technical error, and losing access to it at this point wasn't by design.

If you are trying to access the legacy LiveCharts applet at this time, please first log into Quote.com, then try this link:

At some point in the future the legacy applet will go away, and there will be notification on these forums as well as an email to clients (w/ valid email addresses on file).

To verify your email address, please log into account maintenance:

Suggestions for enhancements for LiveCharts can be sent to [email protected]

We do appologize for the inconvenience this has caused.

Will we also lose the ability to export data to other software?

              Thanks

Todd, while I was honked, I do appreciate you restoring the "legacy" system.

You guys need to get us testing it and provide us with some instruction if you're going to make this change so we can make sure there are no bugs.

Well, this accidental prodding has got me looking carefully at the NEW service. I'm not high on being a BETA tester, but fall-back being there is incentive.

The only major negative (so far for me) is the inability to run concurrent charts on separate windows/screens. The refresh time is honestly DOGGY to switch between Symbols and I'm on 6 Mbps Roadrunner service. I'm also have to bounce the Refresh Icons on the Portfolio and Quotes and Hotline as the CLOCK SOMETIMES STOPS???????? No RED, just freeze.

I've decided to run both old and new for side-by-side for next few days/weeks to do some checks and familarize myself with the NEW. I will post back anything I find as a problem. I just started an OLD, and it and NEW "seem" to work OK concurrently. That's only a 10 minutes observation....

Oh.....did notice that day chart volume total was wrong on NEW. Am watching to see if the new system has the missing ticks that has plagued the data in the old system since January 2007.

eSignal, I wasn't kidding about the multiple-chart/monitor situation. I'm sure I'm not the only trader that has "invested" heavily in the technology to build a "trading station". You folks do need to honestly sit-down and think about the functions and features your clients are using and their investment in time, money, equiplment, etc. before you make drastic changes to a system that's been in use for over a decade.

I want to echo danno concerning the investment in equipment over the years. I’ve been subscribing to Live Charts for over 10 years and Market Q for about 6 years. When I started using Market Q, it was a separate company known as FutureSource. I dedicated one computer to each charting website, each computer with multiple screens. A third computer is used for general web browsing. No offense, but whoever decided that allowing only one chart is a good idea has no idea what it takes to trade. The time it takes to run thru different indicators, each with different parameters translates to opportunities lost.

I did not cancel Live Charts when I started to use FutureSource, instead I held on because FutureSource (Market Q) covered the weaknesses of Live Charts and Live Charts covered the weaknesses of FutureSource (Market Q). They complimented each other very well. Its seems that now that Live Charts and FutureSource (Market Q) are now owned by the same company, you guys want to make it all the same. Frankly, this new version of Live Charts is just a watered down version of Market Q.

Have said this here are a few concerns that I would hope someone from the company can address.

I was told that the legacy version is for a limited time. Can some one tell me what a limited time translates to so I am not caught by surprise again?

I trade currencies and pit traded sessions as well as ‘all sessions’ are vital to the way I trade. The way the symbols for Market Q are set up it does not give me the day session. When I use the ‘all sessions’ in the new version of Live Charts I do not get the day session. This is a must. If it is not resolved I will have to shut down my trading, which means canceling both products.

Export data to excel, all time frames, is also a must. I realize that Market Q does export but I have not seen anything in the new Live Chart that shows it will. Market Q data is not the data I’m looking for, again the day session data is what I’m looking for. With this change, 60 min pit traded data will be the most important.

I’ll close by saying that the old version of Live Charts had a much cleaner look. Thanks for any input to these questions.
