what is the deeper sense of having to enter username and password for every new start - although there is a cookie saved on my pc?

You don't have to enter a UserName and Password every time.
If you're on the Quote.com website and are logged in, you can just click the LiveCharts link at the top, right-hand corner of the page. It should take you here http://www.quote.com/livecharts/livecharts.action
and launch the applet.
If you were to go to login.livecharts.com, that page will always request a login.

in fact that does not make it any better.
in any way i have to go to a different page first. actually it should be possible to start the applet with one click out of my bookmarks - like the old version did it.
why is this no longer possible??

Perhaps edit a bookmark with this address:
I say edit because if you go to the above address the URL changes which doesn't automatically initiate the applet.
So if you set up a bookmark to the page that gives you the:
A new window should open automatically to launch the application.
If this does not happen click here to launch LiveCharts.
Then edit the URL in the bookmark's properties field, this seems to work if pop ups are not blocked and you are already logged in.

i then changes to this:
fine so far.
if i then click on "click here to launch LiveCharts"
i get a new window - and the message:
"You have been logged out of your previous session. Please login in again"
This message drives me nuts - it makes no sense and i wonder what it means anyway.
This entire new login procedure is crap - cannot find any better words for it.
What is the idea behind it? If I am logged in once - and have the cookie(s)in my cache it should be enough once and for all to get the chart with ONE single mouseclick AND with ONE single window.
Thank you.

on this page:
it says:
"A new window should open automatically to launch the application."
--- for me it does not although i have no popups blocked for
www.quote.com.

at the moment i have not less than 4 cookies in my cache that are obviously needed to use livecharts.
so i strongly suggest that you go back to like it was before - where on url was enough to start the applet.
for the new version this would be:
and i also strongly suggest that you make it once again possible to alter width of this url to more than 2000.
please do it.
thanks.

What I meant is if you have a bookmark already to LiveCharts in a browser like IE 6
Right click on the bookmark.
Click on Properties.
In the URL field, put in http://www.quote.com/livecharts/livecharts.action and apply it.
