  • Quotes/ HotList Refreshing Issue

    Hi:

Is there any intention on the part of eSignal to do something about the Hotlist UsStocks refreshing erratic issue..

It has been going on for three weeks now.. and the issue is resolved by using the refresh button either.. which a pissoff to do.. as it creates to much distraction..

The HotList on LiveCharts are the only item that is of value.. that the other similar products out there don't have..

So when will something be done..

Engineering has identified the cause of the problem with the US Stock Market Watch Hot List, unfortunately there isn't an easy solution for this issue.

The fix will require a change to the application, and possible solutions are being discussed/explored as far as if a fix could be implemented in the next major release.

Presently there isn't an ETA for the resolution.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

      Hi Todd:

You state: "The fix will require a change to the application, and possible solutions are being discussed/explored as far as if a fix could be implemented in the next major release."

What has happen here.. let see.. one day the quotes are refreshing properly.. then the next.. the quotes are refreshing erraticly..

And this is going to take a major fix ? ? ? ?

Just my two cents.. but whoever made a change to the programing/system.. three weeks ago.. undo the change.. or at least remove the change.. someone made a change sometime back then.. systems don't change on their own.. unless someone plays with it or trys to tick it.. yes.. then all hell brakes out..

This does not need to take forever... it was working.. but then.. who cares..

It was a result of the North American Equity Exchanges and Indices Subscription Changes that have been an ongoing project for months (Implementation started December 1st for most of our services).

In late January those entitlement changes/rules were enforced for Java products like LiveCharts. It is not something that can be rolled back.

Sometime back at the beginning of this year.. the Quotes & Hotlist - US Stock Markets section of the LiveCharts.. were quoting erraticly.. and my understand was that the issue was being looked into.. and would take sometime to fix..

Some 7 months later.. the issue is still there.. the Quotes & Hotlists - US Stock Markets are very erratic..

and I am still being charged for a full package.. and getting half it usefulness..

Is this issue being looked at.. and what is taking so long..

                I hope so.. guppy

I am not impress with eSignal behavior in this regard..

I purchase for a full working package.. but only getting half..

That's how we are treated when they are the only provider of a similar package.. no one else provides a similar package that can be viewed wherever you want to..

There are others.. but they are computer base.. not browser base.. computer base means that I can open LiveCharts on any computer I want..

The next major LiveCharts release could be out as early as September and should address the data issue with the US Market Watch Hot List

It's more than just a patch, but I don't have the details of what features/changes will be available.

It's on a test server and I only heard of a possible release of September after I inquired about it today.

The response still does not impress.. seven months and still trying to figure it out.. ! !

so you have answered the first part of my post that was removed.. who's nerve did I touch... Chuck or Jay's.. don't forget people.. your pay check comes from us users.. so lets not get to bossy..

it's very fustrating to use a piece of software that does not work properly.. and still have to pay full price..

at esignal.. you seem to sell a product to traders.. but done seem to understand the importance of having the product work properly..

so here it is again.. who do I check with to get a credit on the half that isn't working..

                        howabout it ?

Is there something I am failling to understand with the Hotlist issue..

the TICK and TRIN data is available if you open a chart of them.. yet the data from the Hotlist quote is erratic..

figure that out.. why is this.. it there a 2 data feed system at work..

and by being allowed only 4 charts.. can get to watch it from a chart.. why not allowed some extra charts.. say an extra 2.. until the issue is worked out..

I've received word that we intend to have an Open BETA link for (LiveCharts 3.0) on the existing LiveCharts 2.0 page sometime in the near future.

In LC 3.0, charts appear to be limited to 4 (pop-out) and 1 in the main applet window, though other windows can be popped-out.

Our Customer Service (CS) Department handles credit requests on a case by case basis.

Back in July.. I questioned the erratic behavior of the Quotes / Hotlist action.. to which a responds was provided.. that stated to the effect that sometime in the near future.. the issue was going to be resolved..

Well.. five months later.. the erratic behavior is still there..

I purchase a subscription to a product.. which has only one half of its acitivity working properly.. yet the price of the subscription has gone up by 25 percent..

When is this issue going to be resolved..
