  • Feature: Extended Chart Cursor Tracking

I'm using ver 51014 and can't seem to find this feature. Is this no longer available?

    Feature: Extended Chart Cursor Tracking

The concept of tracking the mouse position on a chart has been extended to T&S, bar, and quote sheet windows. When enabled, these other windows can select and highlight rows at the time/date shown under a chart’s cursor crosshairs.

    Sending Cursor Time Coordinates

A chart can be made to send its time coordinates by checking “Extended Cursor Tracking - Send” on its context menu, and ensuring the chart crosshairs are on..

A T&S or bar window can be made to send its time coordinates by checking “Extended Cursor Tracking – Send” on its context menu.

A quote sheet cannot transmit cursor coordinates, but might do so in the future.

Scrolling T&S and Bar Windows in Sync with a Chart’s Cursor Crosshairs

Enable the Cursor Tracking – Receive option on a T&S or bar window. The window will receive cursor-motion messages from charts (and optionally from other T&S and bar windows), highlight option on a T&S or Bar window’s menu. In a quote sheet, cursor motion causes symbols that have traded more recently than the chart cursor time to be colored differently. This makes most sense to see which options have recently traded. For example, by placing the cursor over the right few bars of a chart, one can see whether significant options trading occurred in those bars, and whether it was concentrated in the last.

    Feature: Extended Chart Cursor Tracking

That feature never worked and was removed. Here's a paste from the Readme.txt in V5.0.0.3.

    -------------- paste -------------------------

    Build 5.0.0.1 (Build A) -- January 17, 2004

Removed the Extended Cursor Tracking options from chart, T&S, bar and quote sheets windows, because of undiagnosed difficulties scrolling through filtered T&S data series. This feature can be added back and perfected in a coming beta build.

    -------------- end paste ---------------------

The above Readme note should still be in the Readme.txt that's included in V5.1.0.14, but that Readme has some info from previous readme's inexplicably removed.

To the best of my knowledge, this feature never appeared again.
