Are there any apple users who could tell me how well the parallels program works?

I´m using it for 3/4 year and it works without any problems.
My configuration:
- Intel iMac 17", 1.83 GHz (1st generation)
- 2 GB RAM
- external TFT display 1600 * 1200
- Win XP, nothing installed but eSignal 8.0r2 and printer driver
- Mac applications are running on the internal and Windows/eSignal on the external monitor
Backtesting is much faster than on my old 2.4 GHz Pentium IV PC.
You should give it a try.
