Nasdaq 100 watch.qcw and other built-ins

How do I update these built-in files? For example,
my Nasdaq 100 watch.qcw looks seriously out
of date compared to the linked list: (doesn not contain Google,
for example)

I am on QCharts 5.1.0.14

We are working on getting many of the .sym files updated for the release of QCharts 6.0. These can be imported easily into any workspace via Quote Sheet --> Import --> Symbols. Hopefully, we'll also have the workspaces updated as well.

Will there be a mechanism to keep them updated?
(Apparently mine have not been updated since Dec 2004!)

At login would be overkill, but I would suggest that when
you try to load one of the workspaces that needs a .sym
file, the program checks for updates and downloads
any needed. These lists should really be updated at your
end on a daily basis.

Alternatively (or even better, -additionally-),
why not add an item to the Help menu list:
"Check for symbol file updates"?

Thanks Alan for the suggestion. We are working on obtaining reliable sources for constituent content for our products, however this won't be in time for 6.0's release. Until we get that enhancement put together though, I've updated the quo's manually.
