  • Is there a way to extract Hot List data

I have looked at various threads and I am wondering if there is a way to extract Hot List data from QCharts.

I've looked at the information on QSYNC and QLink but I'm not sure that they are the right tools for the job.

I would like to extract the Point Losers and Point Gainers on a daily basis.

A R-click on the "red flame" hotlist has an export, but it's just a list of the symbols.
Here's one way to get the hotlist with data other than just the syms exported to your PC.
Dunno if this is really what you're after.

    1. Open a quotesheet, set up with fields you desire..like sym, volume, net, %, whatever..
    2. Using quotesheet R-click menu, select Symbols>Hot Lists
    3. Click "Set symbols from Hot List" ON.
    4. Select desired hotlist, set any filters you wish, click OK.
    5. The quotesheet should fill with the hotlist, same as the "Red Flame" icon hotlist, but with fields in quotesheet populated.
    6. From the quotesheet R-click menu select Export>Data. This will export all the fields to a .CSV, or .PRN, or .TXT
    7. Open CSV in Excel, for example. (see screenshot)

      Sorry, Larry,

I wasn't clear in what I wanted. I know how to do what you describe below. I was looking for a way to do it in an automated fashion with some sort of program or script.

I wanted to be able to capture the symbols without necessarily being at my computer with QCharts open.

I hope that makes it clearer

I've added this to the list of possible future enhancements to the QLink product.
