  • Esignal server volumes issues

AT the end of the day I like to scan through stocks I'm interested in and look at the intraday time frames for volume signals or chart painting.

I've given up on Q6 for awhile now and only use Q5.
With Q5 I select the old Q servers and they work fine; slower then they used to be, but at least accurate.
Q5 often loads the esignal servers and then the problems begin. And for some strnge reason the old Q5 cc servers are not always available.

Its now early evening and I'm trying to scan through stocks and their intraday volume patterns but as usul there are no old Q5 servers to select from.
Using the esignal servers are useless as the volume information is so wrong. Exmple: looking at cdnx;eng i see the day totl volume at 417299 but any intraday time frame shows a total volume of 132,000. Therefore any trading using volume signals can be dangerously wrong. Frustratingly I will look at big charts intraday for help with the volume.

Noticed that after trying Q6 for a number of months and switching back to Q5 the problems with Q6 and Q5 seem to relate all to the esignal servers.

I don't know if its just my computer or not, but I wonder if anyone else has noticed this.

Hopefully this can help correct things somehow.

    Still frustrated

    s0lar,

Volume issues on 5.1 is an unfortunate part of those servers. They are literally dropping up to 70% of trades during peak times. When you refer to them as eSignal servers, those aren't actual servers that are part of the eSignal data network. They are the same Continuum servers that have fed QCharts 5.1, but just happen to be within the same physical network room as the rest of the eSignal servers. Many of the Santa Clara servers also have that same volume problem.

The ultimate solution here is version 6.x, which runs off the eSignal data network. The 6.0.1.2 version does indeed have performance problems and I can understand your frustration with that version.

We recently released a beta version that performs better, and is very noticably better during non-peak market times. I'd encourage you to try it out.

      Volume is way off

      Jay,

I have to disagree with you, the volume using 6.0.1.2 is seriously flawed. In some cases the volume is two times the actual volume. When will this serious flaw be fixed?

        jcgg,

This is believed to be fixed in 6.0.1.6, however this version is still in beta. You can find it in the QCharts Beta forum at the following link.
