Below is an email that will be going out this week to all QCharts users that subscribe to NYBOT real-time data or the delayed futures bundle.
-----------------------------------
Dear QCharts Subscriber:
As you know, we are transitioning QCharts from its former data network to the eSignal network, which carries international data and significant improvements to bandwidth and redundancy. As part of this move, lightly used exchanges on the older legacy network will begin to be discontinued, so that more priority can be given to those exchanges that are heavily used. QCharts 6.0.2 will continue to carry the NYBOT service
More on Continuum
The Continuum network is using a data feed that has a fixed amount of bandwidth. As market volumes continue to rise, more and more trades and quotes need to be mitigated in order for the real-time trades and quotes to be sent in a timely manner. Market volumes are to the point now that all exchanges on the Continuum data network are impacted.
In order to improve the amount of trades delivered to popular exchanges such as NYSE, NASDAQ, AMEX, CME and CBOT, we are moving forward with the discontinuation of a handful of less popular exchanges to help the exchanges that a larger majority of clients are using.
NYBOT / ICE
On April 30th, 2008, the New York Board of Trade, recently renamed to the ICE Futures US, will be discontinued from the legacy Continuum network. This will impact clients using symbols that begin with the prefix “NYBOT:” on the QCharts 5.1 platform. If you have already upgraded to QCharts 6.0.2, there is nothing you need to do. The NYBOT data will continue to stream into QCharts just fine after April 30th.
If you have not upgraded to QCharts 6.0.2 and you are using symbols beginning with NYBOT:, we recommend downloading the latest QCharts version as soon as possible to prevent any loss of service. You can find the latest version at http://www.qcharts.com/download/
If you have any questions or comments about this notice, please email our product management staff at: [email protected] or post your feedback on the QCharts Forum. Again, we truly value your business and thank you for your patience and your feedback as we transition toward QCharts 6.1.
Sincerely,
Jay Frank
