  • Need chart of advance volume - decline volume

    Hi.

I found advancing volume symbol for nasdaq and declining volume for nasdaq. also found same for nyse.

however, i need to chart the sum of the advancing volume minus declining volume for nasdaq; nyse would also be helpful. i havn't found the symbol for those.

    do they exist?

i also tried to enter a formula, but wasn't able to do that either.

    Solved

Solved by entering in the expression field or a new quote sheet symbol line: ($uvolq - $dvolq)

i tried this previously but it didn't work, now it is working. - - actually, it looks like it doesn't work because the staus is "looking up" but when used as the symbol for a chart, it does appear to be working. that's prolly what i didn't see the first time. too bad it took hours for me to figure it out...

      Hey jtrades,

arrggh...sorry I missed your initial post. I must remember to not rely on the "subscription" to send me all posts. I've noticed some never make it to my email Inbox. I digress...

There are single symbols for UP-DOWN volume.

      $VOLDQ (Nasdaq $uvolq - $dvolq)
      $VOLD (NYSE $uvol - $dvol)

And yep, that looking-up can be misleading.

fwiw, here's these type syms in histogram form.
(MA 1, 10, 20 with the MA1 just to make an outline).

        another question similar area

        Larry,

Thanks for the individual symbols; they help.

This leads me to another question, I don't know where to find all of the statistics, I only see the 'most commonly requested' can you point me to a link that has everything so I can browse the less common ones?
