Hey,
There is not a ticker for the Baltic Dry that eSig or QCharts carries. I've done a reasonable amount of research on this and it appears that that data is available only by subscription.
Here's an email I sent to Bob about this:
Hi Bob,
I heard back from the London Exchange (below).
On checking the site they sent me to, I found this page: http://www.balticexchange.com/defaul...=article&ID=45
It seems that the data is only available by subscription.
I guess you could call them in London at +44(0) 20 7283 9300 and ask them directly how to get access to charting the BDI.

Figured I'd revive this thread... doing a search looks like $BDI is now supported in eSignal, but is it available in QC? Shame that it costs extra since, as Carol pointed out, you can view it on the web for free. Any updates on this?
Hi Lugz,
$BDI doesn't come up for me in eSignal - there's a chance I'm not sub'd to that specific exchange - but I can get BDI A0-BAL (last trade at $2318 at this time) in eSignal. This ticker makes sense to me as the BD Index for the spot price (the "A0" - Azero- part) of the Baltic Dry Index (the "BDI" part) on the Baltic Exchange (the "-BAL" part). Maybe someone else can clarify if this is the correct ticker for what we all commonly refer to as "The Baltic Dry Index" - as there are a ton of "Baltic" options in the eSignal symbol search, but I think I'm right based on Todd's previous post.
It's not available in QCharts or LiveCharts - not exactly sure why - maybe someone else can answer that one. In eSignal it's an add to your account (add the exchange "Baltic Exchange") and it's $103/mo.
