  • x1719 "Negative" Average Volume

    Jay,

The Volume Sub-Study of Average Volume sometimes displays a "negative" value for the average volume. See Pic.

    Jay,

Perhaps red & white days are not all being added equally to the 65-day Average Volume? As an example, the last 3 days of JPM show a 65-day Avg Vol of 1.35, 0.74, and 0.19M shares. It's hard to imagine the average changing from 1.35 to 0.19M in 2 days.

    See pic.

Thanks for your efforts to correct this.

      Jay,
I rec'd the e-mail notification of your post at 5:17 pm EST - and now at 7:32pm EST, it is not showing in my link to the Forums -

Here's another example - not trying to beat a dead horse, just not sure if your tracking it means you want more data or ?

Anyway, see AIG - it mostly shows negative Average Volume in the Data Window - and everyday since 8/21/09 is negative, until today's Average Volume which it indicates as positive.

So, perhaps my thought of red/white days wasn't the right track. hmmm

      fyi,
      Carol
