Here's a sampling of other stocks that are painting duplicate Daily candles tonight - essentially, everything I've looked at except CME or Indices is painting duplicates.

If you see this again tonight, does restarting QCharts solve it?

I'd like to better understand if this is a result of leaving QCharts running through a specific point in time and all of a sudden the duplicate daily bars happen, or if dupe bars occur within a specific window of time each evening even with a QCharts restart.

Hi Jay and Carol,

I saw the duplicate candles last night also and restarted QC's at least 4 times but it did not fix the issue. However, the duplicates were not on the same stocks each time. I was logged in around 7:00PM EST.

I'll watch and see what happens tonight and if I see the duplicates, I'll try logout/in.

In the past, logout/in has not resolved the duplicate Daily Candles for me - just an fyi.

I see duplicate daily candles now too, on about 1 every 15-30 stocks. It only duplicates the most recent candle and actually has tomorrows date on the last candle in the DataWindow. a restart of the app shows the same stocks with dupe candles.

I stepped away for dinner about 6:45pm and there were no duplicates at that time. When I returned about 7:30pm, the Duplicate Daily Candles were seen on multiple symbols, just like last night.

Here's where it's interesting:
(1) See samples JPM & CSX Duplicate Daily Candles.
(2) After logout / login, initially, I did NOT see Duplicates. Then, after clicking thru a handful of stocks, some of the Duplicates returned (see JPM sample), and some (see CSX) did not return with Duplicates.
(3) Server data included in pic.

It would seem 7pm is the 'witching' hour for the duplicate Daily candles to appear. As with last night, I did a log out/in and found that some interesting things:
(1) Multiple duplicates first appeared about 7pm.
(2) After logout/in, symbols such as JPM & OIH resolved the duplicate candles (ie, they went away).
(3) Not noticed last night, with the new Servers, some new duplicate candles appeared that were not there with the first set of servers. These include AAPL, CAT, WFC.

Jay,
Tonight the duplicate Daily candles appeared at 7:55pm EST. Symbols with duplicates included: BUCY, FCX, GOOG, MA, OIH, PG, POT, RIMM.

After log out/in to get to a different Daily Server, the duplicate candles were removed. See pic with Server data.

I've been trying to reproduce your experience with dup candles as you have submitted the various reports in this thread. I can usually climb aboard the same server as you. But alas, as the screenshot shows, I'm not getting dups. This was a restart about 9pm after I saw your latest report.

This is frustrating, what with different users having different results when on the same server.

I take it that you have QCharts running, and no dup candles as you go thru various symbols. But then suddenly, at some point in the evening, when you continue to move from sym to sym, you start getting dup candles, and on the same syms that previously were not giving dups...yes?

Yes, that's correct. And, then going to a new server eliminates the duplicate candles. Except for the one time (documented below) where the new server initially eliminated duplicate candles and then created new ones that were not duped prior.

I am seeing a slight twist on the duplicate candles.

At 19:19 EST, I am seeing on AAPL and RIMM that there is no candle for 11/10 and a daily candle for 11/11 (which hasn't happened yet).

I tried switching servers but the problem persisted.

Again, I am seeing Duplicate Daily candles tonight - I first noticed them about 7:25pm.

LAM, I could hear your mind working along the lines of perhaps my workspace was corrupt. So, this afternoon about 2pm, I built a new workspace with a single Daily chart - no lines/mva's/indicators - just candles. Also in the workspace is a single Quote Sheet with a random sample of 32 symbols.

With this very simple workspace, I ran it on both x1757 & x1706. The results were the same with both versions.

I ran a test thru 3 different Daily Servers, #'s 1, 2, & 3. Results include:

(1) On the initial server, 14 of the 32 symbols painted duplicate Daily candles. Server #1: 216.23.232.230

(2) With the second server, there were no "new" duplicates, however, 8 of the original 14 dupe symbols painted duplicates, just like with the first server. Server #2: 216.23.225.130

(3) With the third server, initially 3 of the original 14 duplicates also painted duplicates. Going thru the quote sheet a second time, 6 more symbols also painted duplicate symbols (for a total of 9) - these were painted as duplicates in #'s 1 and 2, above. Server #3: 216.23.225.132

(4) I suspect that I could log out/in multiple times tonight and the results would be consistent with that discussed.
