  • The Trader Tax - It's Back!

Go to http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/.../~c1117ZxrLB:: to see the text and its sponsors. If one of them is your congress person, please contact them and tell them what you think.

One of the new sponsors (Perriello) is a freshman in the district next to where I live. He won by a whopping 750 votes in 2008. I plan to call his office on Monday and tell him that since my congressman is the House Minority Whip and in no danger of losing his seat, all my contributions will go to whoever runs against Perriello, if he continues to sponsor and vote for this ill advised bill

    Hey,
The link seems to be out of date. I guess they only stay active for a set amount of time?

Is this what you're refering to?
    http://www.defazio.house.gov/index.p...sk=view&id=532

I guess it's like "Trader Tax Part II?"

Oops! My bad. I didn't realize that the search result links were specific to an individual's search and expired rather quickly.

Try http://thomas.loc.gov and then enter HR4191 in the search term box and select search by bill number.

I really liked the John Bogle letter of support on DeFazio's site. So, John, how's that buy and hold an index fund thing working out for you over the last ten years or from the mid 1960s to early 1980s. Hint: the market indices ended these periods just about where they started.
