  • MktHours - Holiday update info

    Howdy,

I noticed last Thanksgiving there were some folks having a bit of a problem picking up the updated MktHours time-mapper and holiday file.

If you haven't already picked up the Christmas update...(Friday the 25th will be missing if you have)
    0. Be sure and delete MktHours.UNF if you have one.
    1. Exit QCharts and make sure the Data Manager closes also.
    2. Start QCharts. To save a little time select the "blank workspace" at Login.
    3. When QCharts is up and status bar is all Green, exit QCharts.
    4. Start QCharts. You should be good to go. Friday the 25th s/b missing from your charts.

For those that are wondering why this double exit/restart is necessary...
QCharts starts the program that does the actual downloading (the Data Manager) AFTER QCharts is up and has already loaded various files (including MktHours) into memory. The new files come later via DM. So, an exit/restart of QCharts is required to load the files that DM downloaded on the previous start.
    Yeah...I know.
    Just the messenger here.

The above should cover the majority of users.
There can be situations where users have multiple copies, may have installed older copies after the most current copy, or played games starting DM from other copies, have 3rd party programs, and any number of ways to get things out of sync regarding where QCharts thinks files are. The DM(Winros.exe) has a shared INI file in C:\WINDOWS that can get...confused. A reinstall of 1757 and performing the above double exit/restart should get things back in sync. If reinstall, and Vista/Win7, don't forget setting XP compatibility, or whatever home grown thingy you prefer.
