  • daily and weekly volume missing for non-DJ indexes

Is this a "feature" of some combination of my account settings, or are others seeing this?

Some indexes have zero volume for daily and weekly charts, but show volume on intraday charts. Looks like Dow Jones stuff is OK, others aren't. I have real time Dow, NAS and Amex feeds, which should include the real time indexes, right? The charts all show up fine, but the volume is showing up as 0s.

    $INDU - OK
    $COMPQ - not OK
    $SPX - not OK
    $REIT - OK
$OIX, OSX, XNG, XAU, CRX, CYC, BIX, XBD, INX, TXX, SOX, XCI, DRG, BTK, RLK - NOT OK
$DJUSHB, HD, HN, HC, IM, etc - all OK
$IRX, TNX, etc - not OK
    $VIX, $VXN, etc - not OK

    Thanks,
    lugz

    Lugz,

Thank you for the post, many of the indices you've listed do not provide volume data that we can disseminate to our customer.

More checking would be needed, but I can confirm that the NASDAQ Composite ($COMPQ), SPX, $REIT, $VIX, and $VXN all do not provide volume date. The other I would have to check on and reply back.

    Hopefully this helps

Why do I see volume on the intraday charts?

The volume you see on intraday charts for most indices is tick volume, or the number of updates that occurred during that interval for that symbol.
