  • Charting defect

Pull up a chart on NG or HL that is 15 min and all is fine. Now try 45 min and look at all the spaces where data should be. The strange thing is that this does not occur all of the time. Can we get rid of this feature?

    Ron,

I'm assuming if you open MktHours.inf in Notepad that the first line says...
    "//20091225-CHRISTMAS-NEWYEARS-UPDATE"
Also, you do not have a MktHours.UNF in the directory.

I'm assuming you're looking at chart with All Sessions ON,
and you have Preferences>Multi-Minute Bars set to the upper selection.
"Build bars from the specified interval (fast charts...etc"

A 45 minute interval does not divide evenly into the time-map for NG.
Hence the inaccurate bars. (see note)

Change the Multi-Minute Bars selection to the lower option.
"Build bars from largest interval that fits...etc"
    The effect is not immediate.
You will need to chart another symbol,
and then come back to NG to see the "accurate" 45min chart.
(this assumes Preferences>Connection>Cache times are OFF)

Note: Here's the link to a work in progress. Prepare for a possible migraine.

      Hi Larry Happy New Year

This problem occurs in HL but not $rut, I am only looking at NY trading time data. I have seen this before, perhaps one of the servers is having a problem. During the week it usually does not show up.

      Regards
      Ron

          OK.

[edit: never mind on the HL. Assuming you mean the common stock Hecla Mining. Yeah, there's a bug in Fast mode, where syms with 2 characters are whack. That last bar of the day should present, even if inaccurate. Try AA, or DD, to see the same. In any event, 45 is an interval that doesn't divide evenly for common stocks, and you will need Accurate mode]

And a Happy New Year to you.
