  • Ticker symbol bleed

When I type $INDU into a quotes sheet, I get the charts for $INDU but the symbol changes immediately to CRM. If I then click on the symbol CRM, the charts change to CRM charts. In other words I cannot save $INDU and come back to it later. This is just one example. I have another workspace which is very similar ("August" vs. "September") which behaves normally. How can I fix this annoying problem? Thanks!

Interesting. Today (the day after my post yesterday), both workspaces behave normally with no ticker symbol bleed. Yesterday I switched in and out of the "September" workspace to no avail. Maybe exiting and reentering QCharts, or rebooting, would have done the trick yesterday. But why? I am up-to-date with version 6.2.0.1896.

The issue with the symbols bleeding is one that engineering has never been able to isolate.

When the issue occurs, often exporting the symbol list and importing it into a new quote window will get the symbols to display correctly.

Ultimately the fix will take place within the next major QCharts release (possibly Q1, 2011).
