  • Trading day start time is half-hour off

    Hello,

I bought a new PC yesterday and loaded Qcharts 6.2.0.

I've been using Qcharts for 8 years and never had this issues, but today the start time for all securities, indices, etc. is showing at 8:00am CST, and not 8:30am CST.

I can't find anywhere to change this setting to the proper 8:30am CST.

I've tried different servers, and get the same issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you running in XP compatibility mode?
If I recall correctly, same thing happened to me when I installed QC on a new computer but forgot to click on XP compatibility. Larry was kind enough to help me see the errors of my ways.

    Larry is still the man.

One other thing you may want to check is the time setting on your PC. I have had some issues like you describe, particularly with Windows 7, where the PC time becomes incorrect, particularly when I have to change some BIOS parameters in the BIOS setup screen. The wrong time then causes problems with QCharts, most noticeably on intraday charts.

Try and synchronize your PC with an external time server, such as time-a.nist.gov or time-b.nist.gov. The time & date control panel applet in Windows 7 allows you to do this.
