Forex Problems

Please take a look at symbol CNY A0-FX (Chinese Renminbi). The feed does not seem to be showing trades on a consistent daily basis. For example, the Time and Sales window for 11/24/10 shows only bid and ask changes without any trades occurring during Chinese business hours. The all sessions chart shows there were no trades on 11/23/10 even though there was NO holiday in China.

Hi Brian,

The pattern of updates does appear to have changed since 11/22. This could just be a change on the contributors side for that currency but we're checking it out.

To clarify, we provide indicative Forex pricing only; meaning all the updates are bid/ask quotes from various banks, broker-dealers, etc. No "trades" are ever sent.

Got word back that the feed is OK and no problems/defects detected. When it comes to certain currency pairs, it can be difficult to find contributors that provide regular and consistent updates. In this case, it looks like one of the more active contributors simply stopped sending updates a few days ago. That has significantly reduced the # of updates being sent.

Apparently, finding contributors to quote the Chinese Yuan hasn't been easy but I'm sure our Product content people will continue to look for new sources.
