  • Wireless Trading?

When I click the "trading" link, the system takes me to a page which says that the feature is "temporarily unavailable".

I have yet to see it available.

I am still in the evaluation period, and would like to know what brokers the product will eventually be able to place trades through, and when that might actually become reality.

On a specific note, does anyone know if it will route trades through Interactive Brokers?

Due to a legal issue they are temporarily unavailable but you could always type in the URL of your broker where is says "Enter your broker URL instead:"

Here's a list of wireless brokerage websites where you can login into your brokerage account and execute trades and look up quotes. These websites are formatted to be viewed on handheld device so they are kept small and graphics are non-existent. You'll need a WAP browser to view the websites.

    Ameritrade - http://www.amtdw.com
    Charles Schwab - https://pb.schwab.com
    E-Trade - https://etrade.everypath.com/servet/...?opt=etradewml
    FBR Direct - http://www.fbrdirect.com/wireless
    Fidelity - http://www.fi-w.com/fiw/FiwHome
    Harris Direct - http://wireless.harrisdirect.com
    HSBC - https://www.broking.hsbc.com.au/WAP
    Scotia Bank - https://wirelessxml.scotiabank.com/sdbi/default.asp
    Scottrade - https://mobie.scottrade.com/wml/default.asp
    Sieber - https://www.fi-w.com/nf/home
    TD Waterhouse - https://wml.wtdw.com/login/login_pub.asp#login

      Hello,

Thank you. Yes, I am able to pull up my broker's WAP screen in IE Mobile, but I cannot get QT to save the URL. I simply have to open IE and put in the URL, like I did before the "new Quoterek with integrated trading". i can't find the trading integration.

I have to manually enter it each time, or simply make the URL my homepage.

For some reason I thought they would integrate QT to trade with the respective brokerages in a more seamless manner ie. click a symbol, and have the brokers page load up with the associated symbol for a quick buy/sell. Or maybe that is something for the future.

That being said, what is the legal issue with putting a list of brokerages on the page? I can create a page with a list of brokerages, put it on my website, and incur no legal problems. The brokers get every single commission for every single trade placed through their site. I can' t think of a single legal reason why anyone on the planet could not link to their WAP login page. Several WAP directory sites do this already.

Unless there is some law with which I am unfamiliar (which is quite possible as I am not a lawyer).

As it is, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever to type my broker's url in Quotrek. It would be quicker to make it a bookmark and call up IE everytime I wanted to make a trade. The exact same way I have been mobile trading for 5 years.
