Whats the cost of running wireless

In Australia we pay 2 cents a kilobyte for GPRS connections, so as you can well imagine the pain starts pretty quickly

What is the average monthly costs for running this gear in trading mode??

In the US we have unlimited data plans from $15 to $50 a month depending on carrier.

In a one hour time frame, 15 symbols in my portfolio, active symbols like $INDU, QQQ, ES H4, LU, MSFT etc... I used 68 kb. I did the same for a chart using QQQ with a one minute interval, I used 75kb in one hour. You can't have a chart open and your portfolio open at the same time so your usage is only for what screen you are using.

So at 2 cents a kilobyte it would be around $1.50 and hour.

But remember with QuoTrek you also have access to the QuoTrek Companion Streamer on your PC. So for part of the trading day you might be at your PC and not need to stream data to your PDA.

Thanks for the informaiton, very helpful

With the companion streamer and manual connection for data update as opposed to automatic, the cost could be managed and be quite usable.
