        Alex Jacobson at HA Trading Room

        Our next Open Website and Trading Room Session is on Thursday, March 16 at 1:30 pm PST. We are honored that Alex Jacobson has accepted to speak to us on March 16th. A 30-year veteran of Options Markets, Alex Jacobson is Vice President of Education for ISE. From 1985 to 2000, he was with the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), most recently as vice president of business development. During his tenure at CBOE, Mr. Jacobson was instrumental in developing CBOE's liaison to the brokerage community. He was also significantly involved in the initial development of the Options Industry Council and is a founding member of the Options Institute. Prior to 1985, Mr. Jacobson was a top producing broker and options trainer at Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner and Smith, Inc.

        He is frequently quoted in the financial media and has taught in the training schools of most major brokerage firms and several foreign derivatives exchanges. Mr. Jacobson has an M.B.A. in Finance from DePaul University and a B.S. in Finance from the University of Illinois.

        He is a contributing writer to an upcoming book, Master Traders: Strategies for Superior Returns from Today’s Top Traders, to be published this year by John Wiley & Sons (see www.HamzeiAnalytics.com/MasterTraders.asp). His chapter is titled "Volatility and its Importance to Options Investors."

              Robert R. Prechter, Jr., CMT, began his professional career in 1975 as a Technical Market Specialist with the Merrill Lynch Market Analysis Department in New York. He has been publishing The Elliott Wave Theorist, a monthly forecasting publication, since 1979. Currently he is president of Elliott Wave International, which publishes analysis of global stock, bond, currency, metals and energy markets. He is also Executive Director of the Socionomic Institute, a research group. Mr. Prechter has won numerous awards for market timing, including the United States Trading Championship, and in 1989 was awarded the “Guru of the Decade’’ title by Financial News Network (now CNBC).                 Jeff Spotts is a hedge fund manager for Prophecy Funds. He has more than 16 years of experience providing portfolio management to corporations, institutions, and high-net-worth clients. He began his career in 1989 at Merrill Lynch Private Advisory.
