  • Jurik Indicators

If someone can help..... How do I bring in the Jurik indicators like the JMA into the Formula Wizard so that I can build a new indicator with that? I have bought the Jurik toolset and would like to create my own set of indicators with them and with the other builtin indicators if possible. Thanks.

    Sesh,

I would suggest going to Chris Kryza's File Share group, and download the EFShelp.chm. In there, you can find references to the Jurik studies.

Thanks Jay for the quick response. Let me take a look at that file and if I have any questions I shall seek your help. Thanks a lot again.

        Clarification Reqd

        Jay,

I looked at that file you mentioned. It gives an overview of how to use the different functions to create a study. There was a thread in eSignal Central website by Matt which also gave examples of some study on studies construction. Although he mentions that Jurik studies can be accessed this way there was no example for doing that. My question is:

The Jurik studies as you know are in a separate folder within the Formulas folder (Jurik Research --> Basic Studies) and are not included in the Builtin Studies folder. If I use the Formula Wizard it only gives access to the builtin studies. So should I copy over the Jurik studies to the Builtin studies folder to access them thro Formula Wizard? If not how can I access these Jurik studies to build another study?

A couple of related questions. How do I access other studies (like those in the Library folder, etc.) through Formula Wizard in general?

Secondly, I have built a study on a study (with those available in the Builtin studies folder) using the Formula Wizard. Now how do I introduce user changeable parameters for length, std dev etc.?

I would be greatly appreciative of a response. Thanks.

Unfortunately, in order to build custom studies off of Jurik studies, one needs to program the code using straight EFS. In other words, the Formula Wizard won't work with what you are looking to do.

Again, these would need to be done through straight EFS coding. Just so you know, we are working on revamping the Wizard, and hope to have a more robust and easier to use product around the end of the year in eSignal 8.0.

To hopefully help, I've attached an EFS that puts Bollinger Bands on the VEL study.

Thanks Jay for a candid reply. Yeah, I really would love to use the Formula Wizard to build my own indicators and so I hope your future versions will have a more robust Wizard for use by lay people like me.

Also thanks for a sample using the Jurik indicators.
