I downloaded the 5156.exe plugin and on my first download and each successive try I get the message "The instruction at "Ox73dd1351" referenced memory at "OX00000004" The memory could not be read. Global Server is shutting down.

Does anyone know what this means and/or how to correct it?

    thanks,

    Ted

Was TS2k/GlobalServer working correctly (ie connecting to the servers and downloading data in real time) before you installed the Plugin? What version of TS2k/GlobalServer are you running?
Any other information you can provide may help in determining the cause.
Having said that I have no idea as to what that error message is referencing.

      Plugin download

      Afternoon Alex,

Thanks for writing, the GS version is 5.00 0822. I have continued to download different symbols of intraday and daily some have worked and some have a similar error message and say GS is shutting down. Just as an example I was unable to obtain ES Z5 Tick for 2 weeks and unable to obtain AB #F 1min for 3 months.

As an aside I am unable to locate the symbol ZE Z5 in the pop up "symbols to download" window, that you choose which symbols you are actually downloading. In other words I go to File/download from eSignal/I choose Index,1 minute,July 8,2005 press OK and the Symbols to Download window comes up but I can not find ZE Z5. The CME exchange list actually ends in the letter L, there is not more symbols above those that start with L.

Maybe I am looking for the wrong symbol? The E-mini Euro?

Sure sorry to be a bother. I really appreciate the help.

      thanks,

      Ted

Just so that I understand the situation, are you saying that you get that error message only when downloading certain symbols? And that with other symbols you can download the data without any problems?
If that is the case you could have either set up those symbols incorrectly or have a corruption in GlobalServer's database.
There may be other reasons but those are the first two possible causes I would be looking into. You may want to try deleting those symbols and setting them up again from scratch. As to database issues you may want to try reindexing your database (see this thread for a brief explanation on how to reindex GlobalServer's database).

To what Category did you assign that symbol? Future, Index, other?

I am not sure I understand what you are saying. Which list are you referring to?

You have the correct symbol ie ZE Z5 (or ZE #F for the continuous)
