  • GlobalServer/TS2000i setup for 6E, Euro FX CME

I know that 6E is part of my subsription. I can see it in the Esignal charting software. But setting up the Symbol in the GlobalServer brought only a half-way success. I can see 6E in the QuoteMonitor and a few ticks on a chart. But the Trade Time remains at around the time whent I set up the symbol.

How can I trouble-shoot this and get TS get the real-time data?

I already talked to an Esignal representative and he told me that TS can't deal with the "6" in "6E".

    Any help appreciated

See this thread for a quick method to setting up Globex currency symbols in TS
If you are still having problems then you will need to provide more details (preferably with images) about how you are setting up these symbols in GlobalServer

      Further Information

Thank you Alexis for dealing with the problem.

Please see the attached file for information on how the 6E is set up.

I actually took this setup from someone who uses TS.i with Esignal on an American computer. Question1: we were wondering whether my problem has anything to do with time zones.

Question2: what do you think about the Esignal guy telling me that TS.i cannot deal with the syntax and the number 6 is the problem?

Another info: I can see unter Edit Data that GlobalServer recorded 14 Tick of 6E, which somehow got in there after I set up the symbol the first time.

The attempt to download from Esignal with the plugin looks like that the Plug-In tries to download Ticki/Minute/Daily but that the processed numbers remain at zero.

I did not understand the page you referred me to, especially not the sentence "Probably the easiest solution is to first temporarily set up the default CME Exchange Settings to those required by the Globex currencies." Question3: what are these settings required by Globex currencies.

Another info: the symbols I am using from CME without any problems are the Russel E-Mini and the S&P E-Mini.

        New info (same problem)

When downloading historical data from Esignal with the Plug-In I see the in Download Performance that tick and minute data is requested but nothing received, but daily data is. For daily data there is a correct processment without anything under "Ignored".

Does this help to analyze what is going wrong?

With regards to the issue of not being able to download intraday data with the Plugin see this thread for a solution.
"Probably the easiest solution is ..." was referred to the method of setting up the currencies using the pit session symbols first and then changing these to the Globex symbols. By what I see the Sessions you have are already correct.
As to the other problem you described I am unable to replicate it at my end.

            Sorry, no solution

I understood your suggestion about the file dbcapi.dll that it can a corrupted version in Windows/System32 can cause problems with the tick/minute data, but that it is not actually necessary for operation.

My situation was that the file (as in your system) is not present in System32. However, I copied it to System32 in order to see whether it would make any difference. It did not.

Please note: the downloading problem appertains ony to 6E, all other symbols are downloading everything fine (I understood your suggestion about problems when a general problem allows daily data download for all symbols only).

In TS.I I can see the daily data of 6E. Now I am wondering: are there separate problems that tick/minute data is not available on both the Plug-In as well as TS.i? Or do you think by any chance that it is only one problem?

By now I spent more than 6h on researching the web and setting up the symbol again and again to see whether there are any mistakes during setup/defintion in the set-up for the Symbol Dictionary.

Do you have another suggestion Or do you have any idea where I can turn to?
I also was at http://forum.tssupport.com/index.php, but there is no one responding to my problem.

So thank you again so much for any suggestion.

              Problem solved

Customer Service at Esignal could solve the problem; it was something they had to fix on their side with the access/data base I have.

Actually Customer Service was the first I had turn to before the ordeal of research/posting, but at that time they said everything would be fine....

This is how it looks now....

Alexis, many thanks for your patience and support.
