Slow data feed

Does anyone know why TS 2000i slows down during economic data release- there is a lag in real time data feed.

I trade T- bonds and 10 Y T- notes and use multiple charts.

What symbols are you using for the 10 and 30 year contracts?
If you are using the elctronic contracts (ie ZB and ZN) then the problem you are seeing may be related to TS2k/GlobalServer's documented issues with some electronically traded futures (such as for example ES and NQ).
The best solution I know of is to set up these types of symbols as either Indexes or Stocks instead of Futures. You can find the instructions on how to do this in the Setting up ES as Stock or Index.mht document available here. While the document refers specifically to ES it is applicable to all futures.
Lastly if you are using the Plugin for TS2k make sure that it is the most recent version.
