  • Problem to datamanager (esignal 7.4) from GS after after installing WinXP

    Hi All,

Has anyone noticed this intermittent problem:

    1) I start GS up in Offline mode, no other appln. is running.

    2) In GS, I then go File->Work Offline to have GS launch esignal datamanager (ver. 7.4 build 258) to connect to esignal servers

The datamanger connects as the status icon turns to green on the system tray but GS connect status stays in state "Trying to connect".. After a few minutes GS responds saying that connection could'nt be established.

If I close the datamanager, and repeat step 2) above, GS is then able to connect to datamanager successfully.

This only happened after I installed WinXP (running Win2000) before. Does anyone know how to fix this bit of annoyance.

I looked at the Event logs and noticed the following error/information notifications:

    1)
The application, C:\Program Files\eSignal\winros.exe, generated an application error The error occurred on 10/01/2003 @ 23:14:10.328 The exception generated was c0000005 at address 5F490453 (MFC42!Ordinal5809)

    2)
Faulting application winros.exe, version 7.4.0.0, faulting module mfc42.dll, version 6.0.8447.0, fault address 0x00090453.

You need to update your Microsoft run-time libraries:

    1. Download these packages:
    http://www.dynastorelight.com/Common/SetupMFC.exe
    http://www.dynastorelight.com/Common/VBRUN60.exe
    2. Exit ALL programs
    3. Run the downloaded packages.
    4. Restart your Windows.

      Hi THere,

I understand that these will update the MS runtime libraries in teh Program Files/Common Folder?

Is there an uninstaller for this in case i need to uninstall it?
And are these the most uptodate or can i get the most recent from Microsoft?

      THanks
