  • memory usage problem for esignal plugin for ts2k.

    Hi everyone.

I have used esignal plugin, and for some reason it
consumes all my 768MB memory and then some more and
brings the computer to it's knees,so I have to reboot it.

I can successfully download only 1 day at a time(400
symbols), and Global server memory usage grows to >600MB.

Please let me know if there is a solution to this
    memory problem.

    Thanks in advance.

Not sure I have an answer but let me toss out a few questions to help in the troubleshooting.

Are you running the eSignal app at the same time as you have TS and GS running? Have you tried closing eSignal but keeping the Data Manager open to feed TS?

Do you have any memory issues running just eSignal?

When you say you are downloaded 1 day's worth of data on 400 symbols, is that 1 min bars, ticks, daily data or what exactly?

Have you experimented with fewer symbols or different intervals and seen any differences in memory usage?

What other apps or routines are running in the background? You might want to check out this FAQ and review the items being loaded via the Task Manager. Perhaps eliminating some unwanted programs would help.

    Thanks.

It's a bit of a long shot but you might want to look into the situation decribed in this other thread as well.

      Thanks.

Hi Scott and thanks for Your time.

        >Are you running the eSignal app at the same time as

        >running? Have you tried closing eSignal but keeping
        >the Data Manager

Normally they run all together without any problem.
In this case(downloading data) only global server and data manager are running on the system(win2k).

        >Do you have any memory issues running just eSignal?

        No.
In my opinion, the problem is located between global server and esignal plugin, because only global server memory usage is growing during the download.

Just tick data. I downloaded 1 min and daily for one week with no problems.

I used uniserver before and I didn't encounter this problem.

        Thanks
        Ed
