  • PFG Broker Interface

    Hello,

I'm working with the PFG Broker Interface and it works fine with all type of orders, but if a order is filled there is no response from PFG to Esignal. It seems there is no feedback from the PFG Interface to the ESignal Broker Interface. I cannot see any open positions in Esignal and also cannot use stop orders with a offset to the last fill. The "Buy Stop Last Fill" button remains grey. Also "Cancel Order" does not work, the button also remains grey. Does anyone has a solution?

    Hi zottl,

I've been working to duplicate this and have come across an error message that we are looking into. It seems that the BEST Online Trading app. seems to be communicating with eSignal ok, but when particular functions are passed, the error message pops up. As soon as we can isolate what may have changed, I'll reply back to this thread. Thanks.

How long does it take to resolve such issues?

Haven't you been waiting almost 2 months for this to be resolved? Wow. I wonder if I was smart in signing up for esignal premier. I only did so because of integrated trading.

              zottl,

We are still working diligently to get this issue resolved. One of the caveats of this feature is that it works differently than several of the other broker integrations that utilize a plug-in. As it currently stands, we have been experiencing the error on Best Direct version 7.3. The Setup Instructions that Peregine Financial has outlined mentions Best Direct 7.0. Do you happen to recall which version you are currently running?

Please let us know. As soon as we know more, we will be reposting to this thread. Thank you for your continued patience.

                DuaneG,

I'm currently using Best Direct 7.0.4. Who has developed this special version of trade.exe, which I've downloaded from the ESignal website? ESignal or PFG?

                    zottl,

As mentioned, we've been looking at the communications between eSignal and PFG. As it currently stands, it appears that eSignal is communicating with PFG ok. Through the course of troubleshooting, we've set up an order ticket with several of the trade specifications that you mentioned. The PFG Order Management Window is taking precedence when orders are passed from the eSignal Order Ticket to PFG. The order is placed via the ticket and PFG handles the trade from there.

The Cancel Order functionality was not present in the Order Ticket and could only be cancelled through the PFG Order Management Window. The "Buy Stop Last Fill" feature is working and was passed to PFG successfully. One issue that made it difficult to isolate was that regardless of Limit Orders or Market Orders, PFG executed the trade no matter what price was entered into the order ticket or even PFG directly. We are in fact working with a demo account, so I'm not sure if that had any relevance in the outcome. This sort of behavior makes it difficult to troubleshoot the Pending Order button in the eSignal Order Ticket as the trade never makes it to a pending state, but rather is automatically executed.

I'm including a screenshot that illustrates the communications between PFG and eSignal. The first trade was executed at with a Market Order and the second was Sell Stop -2 from the Last Fill. It appears that the PFG Order Management is taking precedence on some order types as it also retains the amount of open positions and pending orders. I'll continue working with various scenarios and re-post my findings here.

Sending Orders to PFG BEST from EFS

                      Hi Duane,

I downloaded PFG's trade.exe. Can I set it up so orders can be sent via EFS like I can with say REDI? If it can, would you provide some instructions?

                      Thanks,

                      ziggy

                        Integrated Trading with PFG PRO/Best

Is such integration available via EFS?

                        TIA.

                          Hello z11,

The EFS functions used to send trades to the integrated brokers are the Generic Broker functions.

                            Hello JasonK,

I have not been able to set up PFG as an integrated broker -
                            1) I installed their plug-in, trade.exe
                            2) I set datafeed from within PFGPro to eSignal
                            3) After attach ticket, I am not able to send a manual order to PFGPro from esignal
                            4) I do not see PFG as an option for integrated trading

                            Pls advice.

                              Hello z11,

I've done some initial testing and I was not able to submit trades from the attached order ticket to PFG v7.2 from eSignal 8.0. Just wanted to let you know that I've started an internal inquiry.
