Best Integrated Trading Software

Looking to use esignal as my main trading platform and currently have optionsxpress as my broker but am not committed to optionsxpress. So, wondering whether there are differences between the trading platforms depending on which broker you use. I.e., is the software more advanced for those who use Interactive Brokers or some other broker? I'd switch to the broker who has the best integrated trading software. Can anyone weigh in on this? Which broker has esignal been integrating the longest?

(I already see some discrepancies in the info provided in my integrated trading window and that from my actual account. SCARY)

ALSO...

One thing I don't see on my optionsxpress trading window is the ability to set alerts when an order is filled. Is this available and I can't see it?
Is there a tutorial somewhere about the ticket designer window?

optionsXpress Integration (and more!)

Yes, there are some differences in how we've integrated to different brokers, primarily order types and instrument classes (stocks, options, futures, forex) - it also depends on their API and what service they make available to us.
That being said, we've endeavored to provide consistency in the software when possible, like the trade ticket, order defaults, and the account window.

The software isn't more advanced for customers using IB, in fact, we just re-engineered the optionsXpress integration, so one might consider it to be one of the most current/advanced. Also, we have a more recent version that's been in a beta which you might want to install (if you haven't already ).

Looking at who's been integrated the longest might not give the most accurate picture of which integration best meets your needs - only because trading integration is an ongoing effort at eSignal, and we've continually updated each broker's plugin (such as the optionsXpress plugin mentioned above).

Can you specify what type of discrepancy you experienced? And/or if you're interested in participating in the pre-release, let me know if the issue(s) exist in that version.

When there's activity in your account (ie, an order get's filled), that should reflect instantly in eSignal's broker window - let me know if that's not the case. We've thought about audible alerts too, but haven't implemented them.

Lastly, we have begun a pre-release of an application called "VisionTrader", which currently operates as a standalone, but is planned to be integrated into eSignal in version 8.1.
