Loosing connection between IB, TWS and eSignal

  • Loosing connection between IB, TWS and eSignal

    I've having a problem where TWS is disconnecting from IB on a regular basis every few hours and TWS needs to be restarted . The follwing messages appear in the eSignal IB Broker application under the messages tab:

    state 1100: Connectivity between IB and TWS lost id- -1
    Connecting
    error 502: Couldn't connect to TWS: Confirm AxtiveX Enabled
    Blocked

    This happens regularily and doesn't seem network related, ie., other network dependant applications such as eSignal, AOL etc remain operational.

    It's my understanding that TWS is a Java application, could the starting of TWS be done within EFS, or if not as an external automated task (dos batch or javascript file) that invokes java.exe and starts TWS?

    If so, how do I pass the account/userid and password to TWS?

    Here's two resources that may be of value.

    First, there's an independant tws wiki located here.
    At the top, there's a search field, and if you enter "Automatically Logging In and Connecting to TWS", the result is an article detailing that issue.

    Alternatively, a search on Google for "ibcontroller" will generate the following results (search).
