Problem with TWS Build 797

Attention IB and eSignal users:

On June 12, 2003 Interactive Brokers (IB) introduced an upgraded version of their Trader Workstation (TWS). The build number is 797. Unfortunately, with this latest build, the integrated plug-in for use with eSignal is not working properly and order execution is no longer functioning.

In at least one case, the user is getting the following error message:

Error validating request - 'PlaceOrder' : cause - Invalid trigger method.

We have duplicated the problem in-house and are in contact with engineers at IB to discuss what specifically was changed in build 797. Once we understand the exact nature of the changes, we will either modify the eSignal/IB plug-in or work with IB to consider further changes to the TWS. Hopefully, the changes will be fairly straightforward and we'll have a resolution to this problem very soon. Once we get more information, we'll post to this thread.

In the meantime, if possible, please do not upgrade to build 797 if you are using the eSignal/IB plug-in for order execution.

It appears we may already have a fix in place to resolve this issue. If you are interested in helping us test this fix, please download the updated IB/eSignal plug-in from the 7 Series Beta File Share area. The file name is Interactive Brokers Plug-In 7.4.exe.

We have received word back from users who have loaded the new plug-in that order execution from eSignal to TWS build 797 is back to normal and functioning correctly. The new plug-in has now been uploaded to the main IB partner page.

If/when you upgrade to TWS build 797 or greater, please make sure you install the new plug-in ( dated 6/18/03 ).
