  • Data Manager Problem - Office Server IP address ? And ?

    Hi,

The Esignal Data Manager that was installed along with QuoteTrader inItially would not connect to Esignal :

    1) popup window saying that either the password or username was wrong when Quotetrader is opened.

Then from the (in Data Manager)File/Properties,i entered in the "office Server IP Address" the ip "127.0.0.1",and then it accepted the username and password. But when Quotetrader is opened :

    PROBLEM IS:
    2) In Quotetrader - on bottom right hand corner,it always says "checking entitlements" and the icons at the menu bar look greyed out,and any of items from the first 3 in the File menu are unavailable.

I am guessing i need to enter something else in the DATA MANAGER "office Server IP Address" and what else ?????

BROKER CONNECTION : seems working. It connects and was tested during program setup

HOW do i make this work ?????

    thanks

    Hi There,

    Thanks for your post.

Please change the data manager server address to:
    cm*.esignal.com

and then advise, should you continue to experience difficulties.

      Hi Shaheed,

      No it wont work.

I entered " CM*.esignal.Com" into the "office server IP address" and it would not accept my username and password, but when i changed it back to 127.0.0.1,it would accept the username/password again.

cm*.esignal.com was originally in the "eSignal CM IP Address" field when it would not accept username/password

The Data Manager main window now says "connection normal (2 users)"
      "esignal data manager operating normally"
      "newsserver: not ent"

      reception: OK password : OK

      etc

"troubleshooting mode : system performing normally"

      What is the problem ??
Why does it also say 2 users???

I also just re-installed QuoteTrader to have the latest version.

This time i am not sure if it is connecting to IB.TWS is ON
      The settings are:
      server: localhost
      port: 7496
      clientid: 1

I chose every other item other than "Interactive Brokers" in the setup process, such as ameritrade etc, including esignal data to be "unavailable".I tried it with that item in one of the re-installations and it still did not work.Do i need to include one or 2 of those items?I think they are all brokers??

      thanks

Sorry for the confusion, you should not have any information in the Office Server Address.

In the eSignal CM IP Address you would need to have CM*.eSignal.com (Please see attached)

When you signed up for QuoteTrader you should have received an email with your username and password along with an activation link to start your account. Please locate that email and click on the link. If you no longer have it please send an email oto [email protected] PM me with your QuoteTrader CID or username to so that I can locate your information in our database.

If you've already click on the link and started the service and are still unable to get permissioned for the service please check the eSignal Data Manager and confirm the username and password for QuoteTrader are correct.

Also if you have a local firewall on your computer please read over this article discussing Data Manager access on port 2189.

If you continue to have problem please let us know either here on this forum or via the email address mentioned above.

the "office server ip address",and my password and username are ACCEPTED*
