  • Automated Broker Functions

I'm trying to use some of the automated broker functions in an efs script. Since there is no buyToCover() function I thought I could use the closePostion() function. The problem is the closePosition() function is not being recognized by the editor/interpreter. I'm using the lastest version of eSignal Advanced GET - version 10.2.1370.1358. Does anybody know how to get his function to work?

    Thanks for any help.

    Regards,

      Automated Broker Functions

      Hi Jason,

I use two broker plug-ins. The first is for AmeriTrade. The version is: 1.2.1169.1177. The second is for MB Trading. I just upgraded eSignal to version 10.3.1476.1063 and now my MB Trading plugin doesn't work. I get a message that says it is incompatible with this version of eSignal - to contact tech support.

Thanks for your help and time,
      Tom Wingate

        Hello Tom,

For Ameritrade, please upgrade your plug-in to build 1473, which can be found here.

MB Trading needs to increase their version number, which is hard coded in their app. I'll contact them to get this resolved.

          Automated Broker Functions

          Hi Jason

Thanks for your fast response. I downloaded and installed the latest version of the AmeriTrade plugin. The eSignal EFS editor still doesn't recognize closePosition() as a valid function. It doesn't give me a syntax error, it just doesn't turn blue like all the other keywords. Any ideas?

          Thanks,
          Tom

            Hi Jason,

A correction to my last reply. I do get an error message in the efs output window that says it doesn't recognize closePosition().

            Thanks,
            Tom
