Chart trading should support multiple mappings of symbols to the same broker symbol
Why?
Because of continuous contract symbols. It shouldn't matter if I use "ES #F" or "ES H0" and map them both to the same Interactive Brokers symbol.
Some indicators require 30+ days of data to derive meaningful values and using ES H0 just after contract rollover is not possible due to the lack of liquidity in the new contract in the historical data pull. That's why I have to use "ES #F" on some of my charts.
If eSignal has 2 ways to chart the ES symbol (continuous and specific), then they should provide 2 ways to map that symbol to the the IB underlying at the exchange, namely, as "ES #F" or "ES H0". I shouldn't have to choose one over the other for integrated trading.
