Bill, 'Flimsy' is correct. When I said I can place orders with reliability, I was referring to automated trading from within an EFS with eSignal's paper trading as the default broker. My real broker is Mirus, and I trade live with them thru thier version of the Zenfire plugin. Trading is done direct from the chart.
Now, as the chart trading facility as supplied by eSignal, and the EFS Generic Broker functions appear one and the same interface, I see no reason why my EFS will not automatically open a trade via Zenfire. In fact, had I seen your reply prior to market close, I would have been able to confirm same.
Though eSignal support/development will tell you that the GB is not meant for live trading, unless someone can tell me why I should not, I shall test a live order when the market reopens. Most it can cost me is money....... and I have been wanting to test it for some time.
I'll keep you posted.
Cheers
Edit; even if I can use the GB for auto trading via Zenire, it is still not suitable in it's current state. It realy isn't accurate for live testing within the paper trading module due to the inability to get entry confirmation and price. And live testing is the only worthwhile testing, in my view. And you are right about development schedules. When I first joined eSignal, the new version of the GB was due for release mid 2009. Now it's waiting for V11. There have been a lot of versions since then...... I'm sure eSignal powers to be under estimate it's importance.......
