  • FXCM GAIN capital plugin Quantity error

    Hello there
I have managed to install and connect to both FXCM and GAIN capital brokers just fine.
The problem is that when I try to submit an order through eSignal new order window (Trade -> Broker -> New order) I get errors regarding the quantity of my orders. I have attached screen shots for your convenience.

In FXCM when I try to submit an order in lets say oil or stocks CFD I get an error saying the quantity should be less than 1000 where my order quantity is only 1 !

For FX pairs there is no problem. I can buy and sell pairs through eSignal using FXCM!

For GAIN capital any order I try to submit is says the Quantity should be equally dividable by lot size!!

I would appreciate if anyone can help me on this.
Im running esignal 10.6 with latest broker plugins.

    Thanks for your time

FXCM and GAIN are FOREX brokers, neither of which support futures or stock trading.

The error message your receiving is because when trading FOREX they have minimum limits depending on the type of account you have(Micro, Mini or Standard) and if this minimums are not met the error occurs.

      GAIN 2027 not working

I have downloaded and installed the latest version of the GAIN plugin and it is not working... there is a market field missing based on the last functional version and the support documentation.

      Please review and advise.

      Rgds,
      David

        David,

The Branding setting has been removed but that should not prevent you from getting connected.

Are you by passing the connection test when creating the new connection?

          Thanks for your reply.
GAIN and FXCM are both BROKERS. they provide both FOREX pairs and CFDs (Futures, Stocks and so on).
If you go to their website or download the software you can see that.
I have been with FXCM for 3 years now and can trade oil CFDs through FXCM trade station with no problem.

If you read my post I mentioned that in GAIN capital case nothing works. Not FX pairs nor the CFDs.

For GAIN capital to connect well you need to install the older version of plugin. The new version has no branding in it. Once you ve done that put GCUK as your branding and everything should be fine.

          Please advise
          Regards

            GAIN plugin

I have tried everything and still can not get the new plugin to connect or work... the old one connects fine... I think that it is still looking for the branding input...

My apologize, FXCM UK does support CFDs, something that I'm not be able to test here US.

Searching the FXCM website I did find this about CFD account.

** Please be advised that CFD accounts are not available to residents of the U.S. or its territories.

† CFD accounts are available through Forex Capital Markets Ltd. (FXCM UK)

I'll report the Branding to the developers and see if we can get an ETA on when a new plug in will be available. In the meantime here is a link to the previous version of the Gain Plug in.

                  Hey
I am customer of FXCM UK and based in UK.
What does that mean? surely If I can trade CFDs through FXCM trade station I should be able to trade that through eSignal as well.
What about GAIN capital? they have got both CFDs and FOREX and still cant trade any of them!

                  cheers

                    sadeghtajik,

I'll have to work with our Product Manager and see how we would be able to try and troubleshoot the issue you're having with the CFDs. I'll also try and contact our support center in the UK to see if they can assist with testing the FXCM with the CFDs.

Just an update, GAIN Capital limit orders for FOREX (quantity of 100000 or greater) is working now. But the market orders still dont work. Im coming to the conclusion that these services are not very stable and effective.
Would you please let me know how long would it take to have these fixed?

                      cheers

The new GAIN plug-in 2027 fixed it so that users could place Market Orders. If you've download and installed the previous version 1593 than yes that ability has been lost for the moment. I have not gotten an ETA on when a new version would be available yet, but once I do I'll let you know.

so in other words, There is no way for eSignal to work with GAIN capital!
Because the older version of plugin connects to the server but cant pass any market orders and the new version of thep lugin (with the fixed market order issue) can not connect to GAIN capital due to branding issue?!!?

Has anyone out there actually got an working plugin for either GAIN capital or FXCM?

                          cheers

any one out there with similar following problem?

FXCM UK offers choice of CFDs on Oil and stocks.
Using the FXCM plugins its possible to trade FXCM FX pairs with no problem but for CFDs there seems to be a problem with the lot size. an orders I try to pass to FXCM from eSignal gets rejected saying that the order amount should be less than 1000 when my order amount is only 1 lot!
I think there is a bug here and needs to be fixed. I would much appreciate any comments on this issue.

                            Regards
