    I get the message: unable to load dbcapi.dll

    ... when IB TWS is loading and trying to connect to esignal as the data provider.

    Is this a permissions thing?

    We've seen it a couple of times and the same fixes doesn't work for each user computer. It's a hit or miss with the Windows 7 (64 bit) machines. Make sure the following things are configured as shown below. Once the settings are done it may required that you reinstall TWS again.

    1- The user account should be a part of the admin group
    2- Turn off the UAC (Control Panel-->User Accounts)
    3- Run eSignal and TWS as Administrator(Right click-->compatibility)


    There is one other options, If you user the Internet Version of TWS where you log in from the IB website. The error has not come up there.
