could someone please explain why and/or justify why esignal charges $50 to receive forex quotes and charts when Forex has no exchange fees and many of esignals competitors such as tradestation give this as a free service.

thanks for any input in advance

    johawk,

In a nutshell, the GTIS/Forex feed we provide is a composite feed of close to 200 contributors across the globe. There's a great deal of expense in connecting to each of these banks or contributors, securing bandwidth, managing the data, quality control, etc.

If you want to compare Forex pricing among various services, it's important to compare "like" systems. There's a difference between pure data vendors (like eSignal) and brokers (like Tradestation) who actually make more money off trading transactions. Somewhere, the costs mentioned above get passed along to the end-user.

Here's a KB Article we put together discussing our Forex service and outlining why we feel an institutional feed like GTIS is so valuable.

    Thanks.
