I have kindof a dumb question...
I have a system that appears to do very well with the ES and am trying to add a second feature to it. The basics are as follows...
if LONG...
if condition2 then add second LONG position wth a 1.5 pt Profit Target.
of ...
if SHORT...
if condition2 then add second SHORT position wth a 1.5 pt Profit Target.
The problem I'm having is that the back-tester is not compounding the positions. It is exiting the FIRST trade with the SECOND trade's Profit Target and then exiting the SECOND trade with the first TRADES Exit signal....
Is there a way to tell the back-tester which of the scaled trades to exit based on which signal is issued??
A little about my original system. It has done pretty well over the past 45 days (tested). It enters and exits on NEXTBAR - so there is really no problem with trying to guestimate the actual entry price. It returned over $15K in the past 45 days trading 3 contracts with virtually no drawdown (only 2~4 %).
I'm very pleased with this system compared to other systems I see available...
Any help with the scaled trading stuff would be a big help..
Brad
