  • Automated Trendlines

    Hello All

Has anyone came across a really good automated trendline.
I trade the emini's and am constantly drawing andredrawing. It would be great if there was a really good trendline EFS that could draw itself.
If no one has heard of an EFS to do this please let me know and if not has anyone heard of a company or progammer that sells this.
    Thanks ahead of time.

    re: trendline

    Hey Mark

I hate having to redraw trendlines....so lately I have started using Regression trendchannels under Basic studies. I use a 200 length for a 1 year trendline and then I use a 9 length for short term trend.

It is pretty accurate but not exact so you must allow for some over and under but does capture the basic trend.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards

    Pogman

      Hi Pogman

Thanks for the reply, I have tried them too and they are great sometimes and sometimes they are Ok, I appreciate the imput though, I am just looking for something that really works great, there must be someone whom has come up with an EFS for something that is one of the most common indicators in trading.
      Thanks for your imput.

          Hi jreijiri,

I think Pogman may have been referring to the Linear Regression tool located under the Basic Studies menu. While the Linear Regression is available in both Standard Charts and Advanced Charts, you will need to have Advanced Charting added to your subscription to alter the settings that Pogman mentioned.

Is there a study that uses lowest lows and highest highs (instead of std dev/error used in the study)? thx.
