Finding A Security Index

Hello,

Can someone tell me if there is a quick way to find out what index a particular security belongs to. For example, I'm currently trying to find out if a company by the name of reliant (RRI) belongs to a particular index. I know that it is traded on the NYSE and I know that its trades within the energy sector. So I thought it would be found in the The NYSE Energy Index. However, it is not listed there.

May be its not listed within any index, however is there a way of quickly finding out?

Hi Carlton,

You may want to check with the Investor Relations department with this specific company. They will usually have the most up to date information regarding which index they are listed with if any at all. Hope this helps.
