All,
1) The delays we have seen on Friday the 20th of July were due to unexpected problems at one of our ticker plants. Once the engineers switched the connection, the data resumed to broadcast in real time. Technical difficulties like the one seen on Friday are very unlikely occurrences, and engineers are always keen to further improve reliability.
2) Unlikely delays seen during the month of July were related to memory issues on servers, but I’ll avoid going into detailed technical issues not having the necessary understanding of software architecture. What I can confidently say though is that all the affected servers were upgraded by the 19th of July.
3) The delays seen yesterday afternoon and today were due to issues on the exchange feed. Euronext disseminates data through 3 different feeds. Data providers are generally connected to the feed LMF2 which in this case experienced the delay. Others instead might be connected to 2 different feeds and not see the delay. This morning instead the LFM2 feed from the exchange went down for 13 minutes. It is unfortunate that we are connected to LFM2. Every other data vendor connected to this feed will have experienced this issue. Latest information from the Euronext says though that EMDS (a second channel for real time data) is experiencing delays too.
4) This morning instead the LFM2 feed from the exchange went down for 13 minutes.
Euronext's engineers are making all possible efforts to find a solution to the current delays which will affect all data vendors connected to LMF2. We strongly hope that the problem will be solved quickly and are continuously in contact with the exchange for updates.
