  • New Scripts

A collection of scripts has been uploaded to the Specialty Scripts group in the File Sharing area. These include two Volume Profile scripts (historical and real-time), EquiVolume, Murrey Math, Square of 9 and some miscellaneous scripts. A few more should be on the way soon. The scripts are fairly heavily commented and should work with Build 544 or better.

          Scripts

I have been asking for the volume profile and these other scripts. And I thank Chris for writing these scripts. I think esignal should contract him out so that he can do this work. Some of the stuff is real cool.

I have enjoyed being the beta tester on these scripts and would say that Chris has done a marvelous job of these.

Matt and others hire the guy or contract out stuff to him.

          Thanks Chris.

            Cool Scripts!

Chris, these studies you posted are incredible! I know there are a number of people interested in the MM study for eSignal. I really like the volume profile, had never seen that one before.

You also did a great job of documenting each one. This is very useful for others as they learn more about eSignal Formula Script (efs). These really show off the power of the formula language and the open platform eSignal is to add in new charting studies.

I highly recommend everyone take a good look at these new studies.

                      Hi Ron:

The Volume Profile (Historical) uses the price data in the last "X" days of trading (you decide what X is) to calculate the Volume Profile. If you do not have enough data in your chart, the calculations cannot complete and, thus, the message.

The fix is to edit your eSignal Time Template which controls how much data will be loaded into your chart. Right-click in the chart, from the pop-up menu select "Time Templates" and then selected Edit. Pick the Time Template you are using in the chart and change the "# Days" setting to a higher number.

What I do is to create a custom Time Template that I always use with the Volume Profile study... I keep the # Days setting relatively high (15 days).

If this still does not work for you, let me know the specifics (symbol, bar interval, etc.) of what you are doing and I will walk you through it.

                      Chris

PS - The documentation for each script is included at the top of each scrupt and it explains a lot of this stuff. Just pull the script into your EFS editor and review the information at the top... it explains the time template stuff as well as the usage of the parameters, etc.

                        Updates

I uploaded new versions of the Realtime Volume Profile and the Historical Volume Profile scripts. The new versions will display correctly when used with Bonds. See the help text at the top of each EFS script for more info.

                          EFS study does not print

                          Chris

I tired the efs studies, and none of them print completely. This is very diconcerting. I see that others are also having the same problem with other studies. Have u been able to print them out. I use the HPDeskjet 990c color printer.
