    Workaround for eSignal 8.0

    Here is the workaround that will allow the program to work as it did before. With these files installed the program will not auto-launch the Data Manager as it did before. The DM will need to be manually started either after or before the main eSignal program.

    Steps to get the fix:

    1. Download the zip file at the following link

    http://share.esignal.com/groupconten...=&groupid=1266

    2. Unzip the file, there should be two files (winros.exe and dbcapi.dll)

    3. Copy these two files into the eSignal directory in c:\Program Files(86)\eSignal

    4. It will ask you to replace the existing files, please do so

    5. Once this has been done launch the eSignal program as you normally would

    6. Then click the start button within Windows, go to all programs, eSignal, and then click the Data Manager to manually start this

    This should fix the issue without upgrading the full eSignal program. Please let me know if there are any further questions.
    Thank you,
    Eric O.

      I have 2 directories:
      1) for eSignal 8
      C:\Program Files\eSignal
      dbcapi.dll -> present with date 14/3/2006
      winros.exe -> present with date 10/4/2006

      2) for eSignal 11
      C:\Program Files\Interactive Data\eSignal\DM
      dbcapi.dll -> present with date 19/4/2012
      winros.exe -> present with date 19/4/2012

      So if I overwrite the 2 files in the eSignal 8.0 folder, will eSignall 11 be affected?

      I am asking this due to 2 reasons:
      - I want to work on the EFS to make them work in eSignal 11
      - I am using eSignal 11 with Interactive Broker Plug-in to enjoy the e-mini data feed waiver. I want to make sure that this change will not affect my waiver status

          the quote window and the chart are sometimes not in sync. Sometimes the chart still freezes.

          The situation is better than it was but still exists.

          Would you please advise?

          Again, I am lazy and don't want to change the EFS. I am not familiar with EFS and don't want to pay a third party to change. That is why I am still sticking with eSignal 8.0.

            If you remove the EFS does the chart update ontime?
            Thank you,

              chart not updating even if I remove studies.

              I still keep one study showing the last price in order to show the difference in prices given by quote window and chart window.

                What's the version number of the DM that's running with your eSignal 8.0?
                Thank you,

                    This issue is very different than the previous issue. The previous issue was something that we could duplicate here as well. I am unable to duplicate the issue you are seeing even when I use the same versions of the program that you are using. At this point in order to look deeper into this I'm going to suggest that you contact our tech support team using one of the following methods.

                    I'm confident that we will be able to get to the bottom of this, thank you.
