  • Editing the Favorites Toolbar

I would like to rename "Other Intervals" on my Favorites Toolbar to something shorter such as "Ints." to have more room for other things. It is clear how to add and remove folders and items, but not how to rename an existing folder or item. Right-clicking on the Favorites Toolbar doesn't do anything.

Is it possible? If not, is there a way to copy the contents of one folder to another one with a shorter name, so that I can remove the first one?

    Hello Tom,

At this point there is no built-in method for renaming items on the Favorites Bar, however there is a workaround. Below are the steps to do this.

    1. Close eSignal

    2. Open Windows Explorer (r-click Start, select Explore)

    3. Navigate to the eSignal folder (default is c:\Program Files\eSignal\)

    4. Right-click the file Favorites.xml, select Open With -> Choose Program...

    5. Select Notepad, and click OK.

    6. Find and edit the folder name. A quick way to find where the
folder name is stored is by searching using Edit -> Find (Ctrl + F).

    7. Save the file, and exit Notepad.

    8. Start eSignal, and the Favorites Bar will be changed.
    Regards,
