  • New release?

When are you able to give us a new release?
I hope very soon. It nervs extremely that the fibo´s don´t
    work correct in tickchart.

    Thanks

    Tomcat

The new release is scheduled for approximately October, but keep in mind it is still early in the process and this is only an estimate. Also know that not all issues can be addressed, so please be aware that the fix for the line anchors set to the right of the newest bar are skewed on tick charts might not make it into this release.

What I ment we talked about a few weeks ago. It would be
anouth when the fibos wouldn´t moove to the left every tick.
It makes me crazy to sign new fibos every ten ticks in the dax.

        fib lines

I agree. Every tick the lines move. Takes a lot of work throughout the day to keep them usable. How about an intermediate bug fix release?

We found the reason for this trend line shifting, and found a way to work around this problem.

The cause is that when Bid/Ask lines are turned off the chart adjusts the scaling as it no longer needs to leave space for Bid/Ask quote. When lines are drawn on this type of setup, the lines are not taking into account the aforementioned adjustment.

The work-around for this is to turn the Bid/Ask lines on. This will stop the skewing of the trend lines. If you find the Bid/Ask lines are getting in the way, you can set them to the same color as the background. While not an ideal solution, this should be good enough in most circumstances.

Here's a trend line that has held it's position for the last 15 minutes without shifting (Bid/Ask turned on, but set to gray).

What is a bid/ask line? Will this fix the fib problem also?

I also have problems with lines shifting on studies? Will this address that problem?

And can you fix this problem in 7.5 or 7.6?

                Dana,

This is the same cause for the studies shifting in a tick window, so the solution does apply. However, I noticed a side effect of this is that the Bid/Ask updates are counted toward the period of the study. For instance, if 3 bids, 4 asks and 3 trades come through that would be satisfied as 10 periods for a 10 period MA. (Keep in mind this is only happening for raw tick charts.)

The bid/ask lines I refer to are found under Edit Studies, and the Line/Tick selection in the drop down menu.

                Regards,
                Jay F.

I use candle charts for trading, so I don't see how this applies.

                    Dana,

The bug originally reported by Tomcat applies to "raw tick charts". That is charts that have the interval of "T".

Could you describe the problem you are having in more detail? (i.e. what interval, what's the shifting look like, etc.)
                    Regards,
                    Jay F.

My chart is of ES #F=2, 233T candle chart.

I move the price candles to where right hand candle is close to the center of the screen. I place a fib ret or ext on the chart and extend the lines to the right so I can see the fib numbers. When the next tick bar starts the fib numbers move back over the candle bars and make the chart difficult to read.

If I have a stoch study on the chart and draw a trend line on it, when the next tick bar starts the line moves.

I'm uncertain whether this can be corrected in the next version. One other workaround that may be better is using a "1T" interval chart and turning the bar setting to a line chart. This should provide similar results without the line shifting.

Thanks Dana for the clarification. As seen in this thread we are aware of this bug, and it has been noted in our bug database. At this point, I don't have any estimates available for when this will be corrected. You may want to try the extend lines feature as a temporary work-around to the problem.
