I believe the "two little boxes" you are referring to are the Cursor Window and the Snapshot Window.
There are two icons on the Main Toolbar that switch them on and off. There are also relative menu items under Chart Options (see Cursor and Snapshot).
As far as how many bars are shown in the daily view that depends on a number of factors.
First of all unlike the regular charts you can scroll backwards with Advanced Charts.
Second how many bars are loaded in an Advanced Chart is dependant on the Time Templates. To see the Time Templates right click on the AdvChart and select Time Template->Edit...
If there is no specific Time Template for the Daily interval then it is set as Dynamic which means that the program will request enough bars to give you a screenful. Scrolling backwards will create new requests of backdata (up to 10 years on Daily).
However, you can also have the Time Template load a specific number of Days or Bars for any specific interval.
I don't have the links handy at this time but there are a number of Help documents at eSignalCentral that explain the Time Templates.
BTW you can add indicators (although not as many and/or as advanced) also on the regular Charts.
If you need any further information feel free to ask.

thanks bob & alexis!
ok. i got another questions about charts here. I got a couple of
questions for the "advanced charts" vs. just the basic charts.
In the advanced charts, how do you turn off the two little boxes
that show o,h,l,c, etc. i tried going under properties and i can't
seem to turn it off.
The other thing is in the adv. charts you can add all these
indicators and click on the daily view. But the daily view doesn't
go back one year. Whereas in the normal or basic chart you can make
it go back 1yr, but you can't add all these indicators.
so, does one get one year of daily data view with all indicators you
want on it?
thanks!
