Mike,
Just an update following my posts yesterday and wrt the Workspace I sent you via e-mail yesterday.
I am seeing charts painted today. They are slow to fill, but at least am seing candles. And, when they fill and I think it's "done," if I touch the Workspace too soon, it locks up with the white bar at top.
Something this leaves me wondering - since some days I can get candles and some days I cannot - is there a Server connection to all this? Perhaps some days the Data Manager is just sending me to the wrong Server?
And then, suddenly, after viewing charts, switching to a different time frame and back again, some charts will not paint - will not paint any time frame.
Previously reported in various Beta versions, now I'm seeing it in 6.0.1.1 as well. A Quote Sheet will be filled with symbols and after days of use, one symbol will replace the symbol below it &/or jump lower in the QS to replace another, &/or jump into a totally different QS and replace a symbol. FWIW, the symbols T & OHI & NOV are consistent offenders.
"If you could post some example symbols on this problem, along with a few examples of where you are cross-referencing the quotes/nets against, that would be great.
In spot checking a few against CBOE.com, I almost thought the yest's were wrong too, but then I realized I was comparing against the CBOE-listed option (ends in -E) and not the composite variety of the symbol (no symbol suffix) which QCharts6 uses.">>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Jay,
I use the MSN Option quote site to get lasts, nets and other data to compare with QCharts. I assume they are also using Opra.
I sent PM's in early October and posted ADX Study in 6.0 in mid October, with no response from any.
Let's try it again. 6.0.1.1 is showing VERY DIFFERENT ADX charts vs. 5.1. As can be seen in this pic, the Preferences are set the same, yet, the ADX painted is very different. This chart is POT, 4-minute; and I've seen it on multiple other time frames and other symbols.
Mike, I'm seeing this on the Workspace I recently sent you. Computer has fresh reboot this morning and 6.0.1.1 a fresh login about 8 am today.
One of these must be wrong. I'm thinking 6.0 must have a bug.
The data in your chart is what is affecting the ADX study. If you do a visual comparison of the OHLC of each candle you'll notice some big differences in the shapes of the bodies and wicks. These differences we've discussed before, so I won't go into them now... however, in doing a comparison of a variety of Dow charts between eSignal, QCharts 5.1 and QCharts 6.0, the DI lines were in lock-step nearly the whole time. The only slight differences seen were due to data differences between Continuum and eSig networks.

Jay,
Sorry for the confusion. I understand the bar differences due to the mechanical nature of charting first/last ticks on the tape for RTH charts and that there is a different tick flow from eSignal servers and the continuum servers, so there there will be bar differences.
Perhaps this will be a more clear message on what it is I'm trying to communicate. The issue is the way that 6.0 is dropping the last bar of the day given certain chart intervals. For example, the 4-minute chart. Dropping this last bar contributes to a very different representation of the ADX Indicator, and perhaps other Indicators as well. Additionally, since the bigger charts are constructed using 6, 5, 4, 3, & 2-minute time frames, the dominoe effect on bigger charts is a consideration as well and perhaps contributes to significant differences in ADX I am seeing on larger Intraday charts.
The 4-min. interval problem is new to me. I've logged this in our bug tracking system for further investigation.
Regarding the ADX differences in both your 4-min screenshots and in the earlier report from October, they both look like they can be attributed to data differences. When comparing eSignal 10 and QCharts 6.0.1.1 (on the same servers,) the ADX is nearly identical. The only notable differences are the aforementioned 4-min. charts, and also intervals that don't fit nicely into the 9:30-16:00 time space (eSig has a problem cutting bars off early at 16:00.) Also, rounding sometimes causes the ADX data to be slightly different (+/- 0.01.)
In essence, this doesn't seem to be a study calculation issue. When I plug the same data in, the same data comes out.

Jya,
You are right. There are data differences. On the 4-min chart, the Data Window is recording zero's for all values at 15:58 and zero's for the ADX on the 9:30 candle as well.
The missing final 4-minute bar is due to a preference setting that builds multi-minute bars out of server-supplied 2, 3, 4, 5, 6-minute bars, if one of those numbers divides the requested bar size.
Leaving the setting on causes barsets to load faster. The downside is that the final bar, if it crosses over the main session boundary, is not shown. With the setting off, behavior would be as in QCharts 5: a bar at 15:58 would be present, and it would cover time remaining in the session ( [15:58..16:00) ).
So for now, If you are more concerned with seeing that final bar than with rapid chart loading, turn it off. It's here: Main menu / View / Preferences... / Multi-Minute Bars / "Build bars from smaller bars...".
